With the recent explosion of fly-fishing films on the Internet and elsewhere, it now seems timely to take a retrospective look at the man who was the pioneer of fly-fishing films, just as he pioneered so many aspects of our sport: the late Lee Wulff. In the days when cameras were bulky and film expensive, Lee traveled the globe fishing and filming his adventures. Although his films might seem a little dated in this age of digital production, only the most jaded viewer would be immune to the excitement found in his work.

For folks who want to take a look at some of the world's first (and best) fly-fishing footage, the Royal Wulff Products company is releasing 14 of Lee's films on a two DVD set. The films feature Lee Atlantic salmon fishing in Quebec, angling for tarpon off South America, and some bluefin tuna and marlin thrown in too. The DVD's are five hours long and retail for $39.95.
