Let's take this beyond striped bass

It's not getting a lot of publicity in the press YET, but there is a move underway that is intended to take the management of a number of important fish species away from the National Marine Fisheries Service, and place them under the exclusive management of the states (presumably through the ASMFC or similar regional organizations).  In such case, the conservation provisions of the Magnuson Act would not apply.

So how would you like to see not only striped bass, but cod, haddock, pollock, flounder, scup, black sea bass, summer flounder, winter flounder, etc. managed by folks like these, and their counterparts in Maine, New hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey, North Carolina, etc.?  It's coming to an ocean near you if the effort succeeds.

Oy Vey!

Diodoti in charge.
