I read your piece. I signed up to do citizen science work at Kissimmee Prairie State Park. I could not look in the mirror if I read "extinct" and I had done nothing.

I advise Audubon to do a whole issue based on your short subject "success stories". People should know who the men and women are who saved the California Condor - and didn't listen to certain wide-eyed idealists : ) People should know the tools and organizational tricks to conserve and restore. It's hard enough with morons and their dogs on the beach where the signs say 'no dogs'- there is good news, share it, people need to hear it.
People should know they can save species, that "Extinction is not Inevitable."

And I will do what I can to save this one tiny bird.

Good for you, Jim

I wish we had a million more like you.
