King salmon closures hurt, but we violate them at our own peril

Here’s an article, just published, by Mark Richards on the very serious topic and problem of Native tribal people ignoring FWS restrictions on salmon fishing in some rivers due to dangerously low stocks of kings. This demonstrates Mark at his political best, and I think he does a far better job of handling the explosively touchy topic of Native hunting and fishing rights far better than anything ever written by anyone previously. The closing is just dynamite.
