Subject: Big time thanks!

I hope you had a great Father’s Day weekend! I just wanted to thank you again for your leadership on the Council, helping establish the first conservation limit for river herring and shad at sea!!! You played an essential role by standing up for what was right, leading the charge with strong arguments, and putting yourself out there even after the loss in committee, and not backing down. Our strategy worked, but I think one of the main reasons it succeeded is because you are trusted and respected. I look forward to working with you more as we begin building momentum for Amendment 15 to establish full federal management and boost the recovery of these forage fish.

By the way, the WP article ran on Sunday: Talk to you soon, and in the meantime the very best of luck out fishing, wish I could be with you!

P.S. the NYT reporter postponed so Dave had to cancel with Brendan at the last minute, thought you would enjoy knowing that…

Best wishes,

Joseph Gordon

My understanding is that he

My understanding is that he really did himself proud not only at the main meeting, but in committee, where representatives of the mackerel fleet and the small-mesh trawlers were well on their way to emasculating the effort.  We need more folks like him on the fishery management councils.

John's are made out of soid granite.  And if all the councils were staffed with people as tough and enlightened as  he, I'd have nothing to write abou.
