Per below, Iowa rowcrop farmers don't have to think about the water-quality
consequences of their actions because their actions aren't regulated. The
farmers get the profit, the rest of us get the pollution, and the farmers don't
have to even think about the latter. And the media almost always disconnect the
profit stories from the pollution stories. It's incredible, considering that
tiling is such a huge source of nutrient pollution, that there is no mention of
pollution in this story at all.
